Storella & Witt LLP
Intellectual Property Law for Innovators in Biotech and Cleantech
We believe that early- to mid-stage technology companies need an IP champion who will help you develop and execute a complete IP strategy that captures value for the company, and that leaves management, the Board and the investors enthusiastic about the company’s vision, business, and goals.
Storella & Witt is that champion. We understand that your technology company has many IP needs: You have exciting new innovations that must be protected quickly, and often with limited financial resources. You need an IP acquisition strategy that gives your company meaningful exclusionary power in the market. You need to identify and neutralize freedom-to-operate threats posed by third party IP. You need a forward-looking IP plan that prepares your company for new funding rounds, an IPO or an acquisition. Storella & Witt serves you in all these areas.
OUR VALUE PROPOSITION
We have a combined 40+ years of experience in biotech and cleantech IP law. We’ve both worked at large, nationally known law firms and inside early- and mid-stage companies. We deliver this experience to you with the personal attention and price structure of a small firm.
We are personally involved in every project, so you will work directly with a partner. We do not have a pyramid structure. We bring the expertise and experience gained from writing hundreds of patent applications and performing dozens of freedom-to-operate studies and diligence preparations directly to your projects.
Because we are small, we can charge rates far below those of partners with equivalent experience at the big firms. To help you budget, we will offer project-based billing or hourly billing, at your preference.
We don’t aim to be all things to all people. If you need outside counsel for projects outside our capacity, we’ll work with your outside counsel to coordinate strategy and manage the work.
To kickstart your IP program we will, at no charge, provide you with an overview of IP law and prepare a PowerPoint presentation of your IP strategy that you can use in Board meetings, and in presentations to investors.
